How We Know It Works

Young men who have graduated from our program come back to see us, share their successes, and express their gratitude for what they learned here.
We regularly hear from parents who are grateful for the positive impact Samaritan Center has had on their troubled children and families.

First and foremost, we know Samaritan Center’s program works because the boys themselves tell us. Young men who have graduated from our program come back to see us, share their successes, and express their gratitude for what they learned here. They are living proof that our program achieves lasting and profound change. It is not uncommon for us to hear the words, “You saved my life.” We also regularly hear from parents who are grateful for the positive impact Samaritan Center has had on their troubled children and families.

Programs similar to Samaritan Center’s – such as the School for Educational Evolution and Development in Washington, DC (subject of a joint comprehensive study conducted by Stanford and Harvard Universities) and the Chicago Child-Parent Center Program – have demonstrated proven success in involving families in the healing process. Positive impacts on children in these programs are far-reaching and include everything from improved test scores and higher rates of high school completion to better mental and physical health and greater achievement overall.
