Samaritan Center’s residential program, which is accredited through the Florida Association of Christian Child Caring Agencies (FACCCA), is designed to instill a sense of responsibility in our boys throughout all aspects of their lives. Although the boys reside at Samaritan Center during the week, we are not simply a boarding school. Our comprehensive behavioral program is designed to address every aspect of a child's life.
Samaritan Center’s behavior system uses earned merits and demerits to teach the boys self-accountability and respect for those in authority. They also develop better social skills, discipline and strategies for conflict management. By accepting responsibility, they discover how they can be contributing and valued members of their families.
Each of our cottage residences has teaching parents who work with the boys in their care. Every boy is expected to do his own laundry and other basic household chores. There is time for prayer, for study, for play. On weekends and holiday breaks the boys return home, better prepared to communicate with their families and work toward building healthy and functional relationships.
