Before the Board of County Commissioners
Martin County, Florida
A Proclamation
Congratulating the Samaritan Center on its 50th Anniversary
Whereas, on October 17, 1968, to address a growing need in Martin County, a Christian boarding school named the Trover Boys Ranch was established with the goal of helping young boys with behavioral issues become young men of character;
Whereas, the Ranch, renamed the Samaritan Center for Young Boys and Families, has for five decades changed for the better the lives of young boys and their families on the Treasure Coast through its comprehensive, faith-based residential program;
Whereas, the Samaritan Center’s all-encompassing behavioral approach has contributed to the future success of Martin County’s young boys and been instrumental in creating positive, nurturing family dynamics;
Whereas, the Samaritan Center actively partners with dozens of area organizations to provide its students with valuable real-life experiences and the opportunity to give back to their community;
Whereas, in recognition of its longevity in serving the citizens of Martin County, the Samaritan Center is celebrating 50 years of Family, Friends and Faith.
Now, therefore be it proclaimed by the Martin County Board of County Commissioners that the Samaritan Center for Young Boys and Families is congratulated upon the occasion of its 50th anniversary, and commended for its continuing work in the positive development of our area’s youth and the strengthening of its families.
